Four Rooms - Post Game Jam Update

The GMTK is over, and with it we have all grown in one way or another. For example I've realised how many damn mistakes were in this game when I uploaded it soooooooooooo POST JAM UPDATE IS LIVE:

Additions:

  • Added a room connection that makes sense, but I didn't think of it (games are hardddd).
  • A sign that says that the one-way self-closing door is in fact, one-way and self-closing.
  • Added a quick controls explanation (If you assume you make an ass out of you and me)
  • Added recognition to Kelton Hallo's song on the speakers. Long may he live.

Bug Fixes:

  • One of the potential ways to reach the ending doesn't break the game anymore (whoops)
  • The laser won't react weirdly when hitting the player (get yo head out of the way anyway, that can't be good for you)
  • Axe can't be grabbed through the side of the locker anymore (was this game even tested? lol)
  • Made the player move a little bit slower (Gotta go FAST when developing a game jam game (sorry for making some of you sick haha))
  • Adjusted some SFX levels.
  • Moved some stuff slightly.
  • Fixed some bugs with how the audio interacts with speakers (jeez who made this game, am I right?)
  • Added a roof to the starting area. (How did I not notice this one sooner... Gotta start making the camera clear flag fluro red haha)

Future Plans:
Well this was made as a bit of a one-shot throwaway idea I thought would be fun, BUT I've wanted to be able to make an actual VR game for years, and it seems like the stars may have aligned for this one.
So I may use this concept (obviously completely start from scratch, this code is garbage haha) and try and take it into VIRTUAL REALITY.
Wish me luck folks, see you on the Oculus store in 5 years ;)
